2023 Serial Willow Creek District Syrah, Paso Robles
Double Gold | San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
This Willow Creek District Syrah is a small-production release—just 47 cases—and one that continues to draw attention with each vintage. Deep ruby in the glass, it opens with aromas of dried dark fruit, cassis, black pepper, and subtle savory notes. On the palate, dark cherry and purple fruit are layered with hints of spice, lavender, and graphite. Co-fermented with a touch of Viognier and aged in new French oak, it shows depth and structure, with firm tannins, bright acidity, and a pronounced mineral edge. The finish is long, fresh, and persistent.
