2022 Serial Willow Creek District Viognier Paso Robles
2022 Serial Willow Creek District Viognier Paso Robles

The Viognier grape shines in the westside Willow Creek District, where calcareous soils and marine breezes provide perfect conditions for Rhône varietals. This wine shimmers with a medium gold color. The aroma profile is lush with stone fruit, persimmon, and candied lime. Flavors of yellow peach and blood orange reveal enticing nuances of tangerine oil and thyme. A lively entry broadens across the palate before landing with a focused finish. Barrel fermented in French oak with a small portion in acacia for enhanced complexity. Limited availability, only 200 cases produced.

Vintage Notes: The 2022 growing season in Paso Robles was one of the warmest in recent years, marked most notably by a sustained heat wave that landed in early September. Spring frosts coupled with dry conditions produced lower yields and small, intensely flavored berries. This vintage is ultimately characterized by fruit-forward wines with fine complexity.
