Aromas of plum, cherry, and dried blueberry mingle with red berries, lavender, and lilac. Raspberry crème, cranberry compote, and pluot shape the palate alongside sage, white pepper, and cinnamon. A broad fruit core focuses through the mid-palate, finishing fresh and high-toned with lingering dark fruit. Aged in 50% new oak (50% French, 50% American).
Vintage Notes:
The 2022 vintage in Paso Robles was widely regarded as a “winemaker’s vintage” due to the demanding and dynamic growing conditions that required precise decision-making in both vineyard and cellar. A dry winter and cool spring delayed early vine development, followed by a hot summer and an intense September heatwave that rapidly accelerated ripening. Serial Paso Robles responded swiftly—adjusting canopy management, irrigation, and harvest timing—and we were rewarded with Cabernet Sauvignons and Syrahs of exceptional quality. A brief cooldown after the heat spike allowed for extended hangtime in some blocks, contributing to wines of remarkable balance. The wines are rich, structured, expressive, and approachable to drink now or cellar for a decade plus.
