From the fog-cooled slopes of Bien Nacido, this Syrah reflects the vineyard’s coastal energy and historic pedigree. Raspberry and blood orange mingle with olive, pepper, and wild herbs. Plush yet lifted, dark fruit and savory spice flow into a long, graceful finish framed by silky tannins and bright acidity. Aged in 50% new French oak. 70 cases produced.
Vintage Notes: The 2022 vintage in Paso Robles was widely regarded as a “winemaker’s vintage” due to the demanding and dynamic growing conditions that required precise decision-making in both vineyard and cellar. A dry winter and cool spring delayed early vine development, followed by a hot summer and an intense September heatwave that rapidly accelerated ripening. FARM Paso Robles responded swiftly—adjusting canopy management, irrigation, and harvest timing—and we were rewarded with Cabernet Sauvignons and Syrahs of exceptional quality. A brief cooldown after the heat spike allowed for extended hangtime in some blocks, contributing to wines of remarkable balance. The wines are rich, structured, expressive, and approachable to drink now or cellar for a decade plus.
